War over Voters Registration

MBKS and DAP war over voters registration counter continues

Wong King Wei, Personal Assistant to MP for Kuching, Chong Chieng Jen received a summon last Saturday night from the Kuching city south for ‘exhibit depiting new voters registration without valid licence/permit from the council.
Wong said this afternoon that he was disappointed with the council’s enforcement unit’s attitude as before giving him the summon, they had stood around for half an hour deciding what to do with him and the DAP members for helping registering young voters.
The enforcement head of MBKS said, “Dont take advantage of us” before giving the summon. He said it appeared that the MBKS were adament on giving them a hard time.
Wong said it was the MBKS who had been taking advantage of the people all these while. He said before the rubbish collection was privatised, the council coolection was RM500,000 per year. After Trienken took over, he said, collection of rubbish which was only 2 times per week(previously 3 times), the payment was RM3 million per year.
He said the week before Chong also received a summon for littering when they were registering young voters.
Wong said he was undecided whether to pay the compound fee or not as the due date for compound is on August 17. He said he would discuss the matter further State Chairman, Wong Ho Lien and Chong Chieng Jen.
